The Distance Cost: For a patient in a rural province, seeing a specialist requires a multi-day journey, accommodation costs, and lost wages—often just for a 15-minute consultation.
The "Wait and See" Danger: Because access is so difficult, patients delay seeking help until their condition becomes critical. Preventable issues turn into emergencies.
Lost Records: Medical history is often fragmented across paper notebooks in different clinics. Doctors treat patients blindly, without knowing their past treatments or allergies.
We built a lightweight digital health platform designed for low-bandwidth environments. It connects patients in remote areas with city-based specialists without requiring a real-time video stream (which is often impossible due to poor internet).
Asynchronous "Store-and-Forward" Consultations
Instead of relying on unstable video calls, we built a structured "text and media" based consultation flow. Local nurses or patients can upload symptoms, photos, and voice notes. The specialist reviews the case on their own time and sends back a diagnosis and treatment plan. This maximizes the doctor's efficiency and works on 3G networks.
AI-Powered Triage Assistant
To prevent doctors from being overwhelmed by minor cases, we implemented an initial AI triage layer. The system collects basic vitals and symptoms, flagging high-risk cases for immediate priority. This ensures that the scarce resource (the doctor's attention) is focused on the patients who need it most.
The Digital Prescription Loop
We closed the loop between diagnosis and treatment. Once a doctor issues a digital prescription, the patient receives a verified code via SMS. They can present this at partnered local pharmacies to collect their medication, reducing the risk of buying counterfeit drugs from unregulated vendors.
